With these political haiku poems and background notes, I try to cut through the hypocritical façade of popular divisive political slogans, take a step beyond self-righteous bumper stickers and thought-suppressing sound-bites, and provoke readers to consider their historical context, their subtext, their political purpose, and their broader consequences.
